Learn about the users and customers together.<\/li>\n<li>Fight your temptation to provide your designer with your own design\u00a0ideas. Give your\u00a0designer as much room as possible to solve\u00a0the design challenges him or herself<\/li>\n<li>Encourage your designer to iterate early and often. The best way you can encourage this is to not get all nitpicky about design\u00a0details with the very early iterations. More generally, encourage your designer to feel free not to just iterate on the particular design approach but to explore alternative solutions to the problem.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>The Engineers<\/h2>\n<p>Engage with your devs each day.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Solicit their ideas and input\u00a0for the items you&#8217;re\u00a0working on in the discovery<\/li>\n<li>Talk about items they are working on and if there are any questions around them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Involve the engineers in the customer pains you are trying to solve and the business problems you face<\/p>\n<h2>Product Marketing Managers<\/h2>\n<p>Product Marketing should play an essential role in<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Discovery<\/li>\n<li>Delivery<\/li>\n<li>go-to-market<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Modern product marketing managers represent the market to the product team. The positioning, the messaging, and a winning go-to-market plan.<\/p>\n<p>PMM are\u00a0deeply\u00a0engaged\u00a0with the sales channels and know their capabilities, limitations, and current competitive issues.<\/p>\n<h2>The role of Leadership<\/h2>\n<p>The goal as a PM leader is to get a holistic view of product. One of the big challenges of growth is knowing\u00a0how the whole product hangs together.
